ADJUST YOUR VISIT IN THE EVENT OF A HEATWAVE
In the event of a red alert, as part of the heatwave plan, the MuséoParc Alésia is adjusting its visiting arrangements:
- The reduced admission rate applies to all visitors at the museum entrance.
- The Gallo-Roman archaeological site is closed to the public.
- All indoor areas of the museum are air-conditioned and provide a cool refuge.
- A drinking fountain is available in the reception hall.

From Dijon – 1 hour
Take the A38 to the end of the motorway (Pouilly-en-Auxois exit), then follow the D905 via Vitteaux towards Venarey-les-Laumes.
From Paris – 3h30
Take the A6 towards Lyon. Take exit 23 (Bierre-lès-Semur), then follow the D980 towards Venarey-les-Laumes / Alise-Sainte-Reine.
From Lyon – 2 hours 45 minutes
Take the A6 towards Paris. Take exit 23 (Bierre-lès-Semur), then follow the D980 towards Venarey-les-Laumes / Alise-Sainte-Reine.
From Orléans – 3 hours
Take the A19 then the A6 towards Lyon. Take exit 23 (Bierre-lès-Semur), then follow the D980 towards Venarey-les-Laumes / Alise-Sainte-Reine.

Auxois-Morvan Cycle Route / Burgundy Canal – 10 minutes
A cycle path leading to the MuséoParc Alésia.
From Laumes station – 5 minutes
Museum → Gallo-Roman Ruins – 20 to 30 minutes
The museum and the Gallo-Roman ruins site are 3 km apart, with a very steep incline. The ruins are accessible to cyclists who are in good physical condition.
The MuséoParc Alésia has been awarded the ‘Accueil Vélo’ label
- At the Museum, you’ll find a designated area to store your bikes and luggage, as well as a self-service repair station.
- At the archaeological site, you can park your bikes near the reception area and leave your luggage inside the building.
- For owners of electric bikes, it is possible to recharge your battery at reception on request.

On the ground floor of the museum, a ‘baby’ area is available for you to breastfeed or look after your baby in comfort: bench, changing table…
All areas of the museum are accessible with a pushchair.
If you need to warm up a bottle, please do not hesitate to ask the restaurant staff.

In the visitor centre at the Gallo-Roman ruins site, a nappy-changing table is available near the toilets.

Pets, regardless of species or size, are not permitted, with the exception of guide dogs for the blind or other assistance animals for people with disabilities.
Access to the Roman fortifications and the terrace is not permitted.
Gallo-Roman ruins
Access to the restricted areas of the Gallo-Roman ruins site is permitted only if animals are kept on a lead and remain the sole responsibility of their owners. The Alésia MuséoParc reserves the right to refuse access to an animal without being obliged to justify its decision.
